The Athens (Ohio) Medical Campus is the largest permanent healthcare facility in North American built using off-site modular construction. MODLOGIQ broke apart more than 200 modules that were built together at it's New Holland, PA., plant and then transported to Athens. Robertson Construction Services completed the site prep and foundation work. The four-story, roughly 100,000 sf medical center was erected with 85% of the hospital completed at the factory, including ore-built mechanical rooms.
Off-site modular construction provided Memorial Health System, developed Medical Innovations Development, and architect NAC with numerous benefits, including schedule acceleration (the schedule called for opening roughly 18 months after design start), cost certainty, least site impact, improved quality, and a more sustainable way to build.
Memorial Health System President and CEO Scott Cantley noted that this new construction has been key to bringing important healthcare services to the community more quickly than feasible with conventional construction. It also contributed to lower construction costs.
Athens Medical Campus features an emergency department with 13 rooms, physician offices, outpatient services, open medical space, large waiting area, and a cafe. The ED is fully equipped with technology and resources including, CT scanning, ultrasound, lab services, and x-ray services.
Headquartered in New Holland, Pa., MODLOGIQ has over 45 years of commercial off-site modular manufacturing experience. It also manufactures cold-formed metal framing solutions.
