Overview

MODLOGIQ Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Director of Preconstruction to join our dynamic team. This position is critical in supporting our sales team on technical calls, managing the estimating department, and working closely with the Vice President of Construction and Design on opportunity strategies. The Director of Preconstruction will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our preconstruction processes, including scopes of work, constructability reviews, and project specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities / Requirements

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

 

1. Sales Support:

   - Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical expertise during client calls and meetings.

   - Assist in the development of scopes of work and ensure constructability and alignment with project specifications.

   - Participate in prequalification processes for potential projects, offering insights and recommendations based on project requirements.

 

2. Estimating Department Management:

   - Oversee the estimating department, including managing workload, schedules, and team performance.

   - Review and ensure the accuracy of all estimates before submission to clients.

   - Implement and maintain best practices for estimating processes and procedures.

 

3. Collaboration and Strategy:

   - Work closely with the Vice President of Construction and Design to develop and implement strategies for new opportunities and business growth.

   - Contribute to the strategic planning process, offering insights and recommendations based on market trends and company capabilities.

 

4. Team Leadership and Development:

   - Lead, mentor, and develop the estimating team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

   - Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and training to enhance team skills and productivity.

 

5. Project Coordination:

   - Coordinate with project managers and other departments to ensure seamless transition from preconstruction to construction phases.

   - Address any issues related to project specifications, constructability, and estimating to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

 

6. Client and Vendor Relations:

   - Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth project execution.

   - Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors as needed.

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or a related role within the construction industry.

- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.

- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.

- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
